The 2024 Society of Military History (SMH) Summer Seminar Fellowship in Military History
Over the summer, I participated in the 2024 Summer Seminar in Military History hosted by the Adams Center for Military History at the Virginia Military Institute. This three-week, in-residence program brought together advanced doctoral candidates and new scholars to explore key topics in military history, including colonial conflict, military thought, and Cold War militaries. The seminar emphasized research questions, fundamental concepts, and pedagogical strategies, with Visiting Scholars leading sessions on both content and teaching approaches. The best part of the program was the camaraderie. Led by the affable Dr. Bill Allison, our cohort of sixteen scholars built lasting connections (pictured to the left).
