I’m a historian focused on the Vietnam War and the Global Cold War. My work explores the complexities of Vietnamese political life, with a particular focus on the city of Huế from 1945 to 1975.

Archival Research

I have done extensive international archive research in Vietnam, France, and the United States.

Fellowships

I have held fellowships with the Cold War Archival Research (CWAR) Institute, the Society of Military History (SMH) Summer Seminar Fellowship, Ohio University Fellowships, and three Foreign Language Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships.

Writings

My writings have appeared in Desperta Ferro, H-Diplo, and the Journal of Military History. I have also presented conference papers at the University of California, Berkeley, Texas Tech University’s annual Vietnam War conference, & for the École française d'Extrême-Orient.
